Forging friendships through East Kent College and Manor Care
Explore the inspiring partnership between the Garlinge Phoenix Project and our friends at East Kent College and Manor Care.

Learning and growing together
Students from East Kent College have been visiting our garden weekly, acquiring vital skills and enjoying a range of engaging activities. They have been hands-on, learning to use various tools, cultivating vegetables, and even creating our unique Garlinge Phoenix Project CIC scarecrows!

A relationship that benefits all
Our union with East Kent College highlights the profound impact such associations can have. The students have not only developed practical skills and found enjoyment, but they also experienced a special celebration day where their family members were able to visit and enjoy a lunch the students helped to prepare and see all of their hard work.

Arts and crafts with Manor Care
Every week, Gemma and her team visit the Phoenix alongside the service users from Manor Care. Here’s what she has to share about the benefits this experience brings to the participants...
"Our arts and crafts sessions at Garlinge Phoenix Project provide our service users from Manor care homes with a creative and supportive space to express themselves, explore their imagination and to try new things.
Each session offers the opportunity for our service users to take part in a variety of creative activities, from painting and drawing to seasonal crafts, decorating and other hands-on projects. The sessions are designed to be fun and accessible, with everyone encouraged to work at their own pace and make choices about what they would like to create. All sessions are adapted so all our service users can take part and makes them feel included.
As well as developing creativity and practical skills, our arts and crafts sessions help our service users to build confidence, encourage independence and provide opportunities to socialize with other service users. We give our service users a chance to have fun, take pride in their achievements and celebrate their individuality"
